What are EquityMultiple Alpine Note Series investments?

Alpine Notes are designed to provide our investor base with a real estate-backed cash management tool to go beyond savings accounts and CDs. Also known as our Short term note offerings, or promissory notes, these investments are debt securities with a maturity of one year or less. They are issued by borrowers who need short-term financing and are typically used for working capital, inventory purchases, or to bridge gaps in cash flow.

We have issued over 30 Alpine Note Series to over 1,300 investors. To date, all maturing notes and interest payments have been paid on time. EquityMultiple investors have deployed over 100M in capital toward Alpine Notes.

What is the rate structure on Alpine Note Series investments?

As of December 15th, 2022, returns on Alpine Note Series investments compound monthly between the investment date and the date of maturity. This has two benefits - it both increases investor returns by approximately 20 bps in the first year alone and will reduce tax filings for many investors.

As such, the yields on our three versions of the Alpine Note are:

  • 3 - Month Alpine Note - 6.00% APY (annual percentage yield)

  • 6 - Month Alpine Note - 7.05% APY

  • 9 - Month Alpine Note - 7.40% APY

What other upgrades have been to Alpine Note Series on the platform?

In addition, we have also made the following upgrades to our Alpine Note offerings:

Interest Accruals - Interest on all Alpine Note Series investments, as of December 2022, now accrue and compound from the date of investment, rather than pay out monthly.

Automatic Rollover - As of December 2022, Alpine Note investments now automatically roll principal payments over into the next applicable note series. Driven by investor feedback, these notes now continue to accrue through to the next applicable series, or they may be redeemed at maturity by contacting our team 10 days prior to the note's maturity date.

Early Redemption - Investors in new Alpine Note series will have the option to request early redemption to invest in another EquityMultiple offering without fees or penalty. The redemption option, especially in combination with our income- focused Earn offerings, can potentially help investors achieve a magnified compounding effect across their EquityMultiple portfolio.
