How does interest accrual work on Alpine Note investments?
How does interest accrual work on Alpine Note investments?
Updated over a week ago

Beginning in December 2022, interest on Alpine Note investments will compound and accrue on a monthly basis, rather than paying out each month.

Interest that is accruing for Alpine Note Series offerings will appear underneath the "Interest Earned" section of the Portfolio page on your investor portal. When we discuss interest accruals, we are referring to interest that has accumulated, but has not yet been paid.

How is monthly compounded interest calculated?

Interest accrues every month, and it compounds each month. Current month accruals depend on the previous month's accruals - and therefore, interest calculations are based on the current whole month fraction the year, 30 days after the investment becomes fully funded.

The investment's cost-basis, the offering's rate of return (annualized), and any rate yield bump through credit/referral bonus at the offering level, as well as the current month of the investment, are all factored into the interest calculation. For more information on how interest is calculated on your investment, please contact our team by utilizing the chat feature the bottom-right hand of the screen.

Where can I find the rate at which my Alpine Note investment will accrue?

Rates on Alpine Note investments that factor into the accrual calculation, as well as any credit boost being made at the offering-level, will appear on the Effective Interest Rate section of the Portfolio page, underneath the Keep tab.

The rate shown here will show the rate of return for the offering (annualized), plus any credit boost being applied to the offering. This total will be used toward the interest earned for the investments. Once interest begins accruing, any interest earned will appear under the Interest Earned tab of the Keep section of the Portfolio.

Does interest accrued rollover into the next Alpine Note offering?

Yes - interest accrued, in addition to the cost-basis, will automatically rollover into the next applicable Alpine Note offering. You have the option to fully opt- out of rolling over, or only rolling over your principal payment.
